The Moments Between Moments

Every wedding has the big moments everyone plans for. What I'm really there to catch are the ones in between. The way he looked at her right before the first kiss. The hand on the shoulder. The veil catching the light and falling across both of them like the whole scene had been composed by someone else entirely.

Maya and Sebastián's day was full of those moments. They're the kind of couple who are completely natural together, who have stopped performing for each other in the best possible way. The camera loves that. You don't have to do anything except be exactly who you already are.

Calamigos Ranch in Malibu is one of my favorite wedding venues in Southern California. The mature trees, the warm dappled light, the sense of being somewhere that has held a lot of beautiful days before yours. It creates an atmosphere that makes quiet, intimate moments like this one feel completely at home.
